About Project 81
In October of 2007, a team from the United States traveled to Pierre Payan, Haiti to re-supply a local orphanage. During the trip, the group passed through a small village called “81”, named for its distance from the Capital city, Port-Au-Prince. What was seen in the village sparked the development of Project 81 Incorporated….
THE VISION
Project 81 was inspired to change the world from visiting one location in Haiti. Project 81 is a platform for diverse visions to come together to affect change on a large scale. It is also to inspire people to raise awareness through the arts: using creativity to reach individuals as an alternative approach of humanitarian services.
Project 81 firmly believes in the Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs and uses the pyramid as the established goals for this project. Project 81 believes that before one can reach a level of self actualization (one’s greatest potential), their bare necessities must first be provided. Project 81 is dedicated to providing that to those locally and abroad. The vision is to revolutionize.
