Relief Efforts

Project 81 sent a relief team to Port-au-Prince from February 7th -11th.  Below are some of the accomplishments of the relief team.  A second effort is planned for late March.  It will have a medical emphasis.

• Contacted the Love A Child organization www.loveachild.com on behalf of Delmas mayor Jean Gael.  Upon meeting with Project 81 President Jared Brown and mayor Jean Gael,  Love A Child will be dispensing 70,000 meals a week in the Delmas district under the direction of the mayor
• Distributed 5500 lbs of rice in Delmas 24 tent city
• Treated 500 people at Delmas 5 tent city in a two day medical clinic
• Delivered several palets of medical supplies, 2 generators, and several containers of non perishable foods, clothing, tents and tarps to be distributed through the mayor’s office
• Funded a program through the mayor which will put street children in school and feed them daily
• Funded a free phone service for Delmas residents that will allow them to contact friends and family in the United States
